About me
My name is Lok. When I was in high school, I was placed in AP Environmental Science class by mistake. However, this mistake opened my 17-year-old eyes to a new perspective of the relationship between human activities and nature. As I have moved forward with my educational journey, this passion for sustainability has stayed with me. In the winter of 2019, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at San Jose State University. My goal is to find ways combining technology and environmental justice to bring about positive changes in people’s life.
In my past projects, I was fortunate to have had opportunities to work on two aquaponics systems with the EPIC program that partnered with both Middlebrook Gardens and The Tech Interactive. For those projects, skills learned from classes had been demonstrated, such as C++ programming on Arduino and sensors, PCB board layout design, and digital design of the circuit. I was also given opportunities to present and share my experiences with the EPICS program and how my projects promote positive changes to the environment for both 2018 and 2019 Green Talk.
